The moving can catch up with you at the most unexpected moment, but it doesn’t mean it is hard to prepare for it. Actually, without matter on circumstances which forced you to move there are several simple rules to follow so the process will be smooth and convenient.
Unpack Before Packaging
It’s not the wordplay, but the principle to be followed to make packaging wise and further unpacking comfortable. To pack staff wisely it is advisable to imagine what and in which order will be unpacked being at the new place. In such a way the essentials will be kept closer and the things to be used in the last turn will be packed to the button of the box.
Another good idea is to think about things that are not used for a long time. It is rather probable they will be not used in the future as well. In such a case they can be sold at the garage sale or donated. Anyway, there is no need to take them to the new place.
Sorting
Before perform packing it is a good idea to sort out all things by each room or even place of storage, like for example cabinets, chest of drawers, and others. It will also help to identify unnecessary things and help to find the necessary ones faster after moving. The idea is to avoid putting any things into the boxes until sorting will be completed.
Labeling
It is hard to remember what was put in every box, especially taking into account that boxes are similar to each other. Thus labeling the boxes and sorting them by things’ purposes will be helpful during unpacking. It is advised to put special labels at documents and fragile things to carry them in a special accurate manner.
Attention to Kids
Kids may feel stressed about moving, but there is a way to distract their attention from that by involving them in a process of packaging. No worries, we do not offer you to involve kids in carrying heavy boxes. We propose to create a special kids’ box (better if it could be bright and sturdy) and fill it with important and memorial things. Advise them to keep there pics of the old house, of their friends and time spent there. You may also help them to gather contact details of their friends in order do not lose connection after moving out.
Use Planning Tools
Prepare a calendar with a checklist of things to be done before moving out, so it would be easier to distribute your time and do not turn the relocation to the mess. Do not forget to include there the paragraph about a communication sent to the utility company, school, post, banks, and many others to notify them in advance about your relocation and respective change of address.
